Escape

Like a rapidly melting ice lolly,

In the burning heat of that one day of summer we had all season;

Liquid love

Words dripping off the tongue,

A seductress to the lonely,

Snaking off the lips, trickle down the chin.

A trail down the neck,

Erupting once forgotten sensations,

Volcanic emotions pour

Over once barren land

Mountains prickle

Salty streams heal wounds in the earth,

Pulsating through crevices unknown

Like a rapidly melting ice lolly,

Time refuses to stand still;

As the last pages turn,

Day fades,

Night falls,

Blackness ensues
