Poison

Despite my eyes, I can only see
The fragile relics of a poisoned tree
Sunset bruises litter the skies
Heart of scars, romanticised

Ghost within a skeletal body
Souls of sinners in purgatory
Muted cries of dancing flames
Treasure within, now unclaimed

Ancient ruins where bones once were
Delicate mystery of the whisperer
Mind of stars behind a bark fa├žade
Exiled from the land of flaws

Faded tattoos pending divorce
Unsteady bridges full of remorse
Inky clouds crying tears of fire
Crucified soul of a supernova

Broken wings and forgotten promises
Catastrophic destruction of the dishonest
Island of eternal isolation
Malignant forest for generations
